(1758, PA – 1840, OH) & Laban (01WR2) Parks, (1760, PA – 1812, OH), (Both Represented), these two brothers who were early settlers of Harrison, Jefferson and Tuscarawas Counties in Ohio.  There are diverse opinions as to the parentage of these brothers. Was it a “Robert” or a “Laban”, or could this father have an entirely different given name. We will treat both brothers under this key together for the purpose of the Lineage Catalog.  The last compilation that has been filed with the Society was done by Jean Churchill in 2003, based on the materials of three descendants of these lines. There is much confusion as to names, dates, and places, even among descendants, hence consider this a draft, with lots of issues to be sorted out.

Robert (01WR1) Parks, (1758, PA – 1840, OH), married a Mary (unknown), 4 April 1797, in Harrison County, Ohio. Nine children.

• Laban (02WR2) Parks, (1797, OH – 1870, OH), m1) Rachel Dicks (1802, PA – 1855, IN) 20 February 1819, Tuscarawas County, OH. Twelve children;   m2) Mary Jane Gilkeson, (1822, OH, - 1880, IN) 8 March 1857, Lagrange County, IN. Three children.

• John B. (02WR3) Parks, (1798, OH – 1844, OH), married Beulah Messenger (1798, CT – 1884, KS), 23 November 1820, Harrison County, OH. Thirteen children.

• Rebecca (02WR4) Parks, (1799, OH – a1840, CA) married John James Dicks (1800, England – 1855, CA) circa 1825, Harrison County, OH. Six children.

• William (02WR5) Parks, (1801, OH – 1860, IN), married Eliza Grose/Gross (1803, MD – 1889, IN) 2 October, 1823, Harrison County, OH. Eleven Children.

• Sarah (02WR6) Parks, (1803, OH – 1872, IL), married James P. Strode (1790, PA – 1870, IL) 21 April 1825, Harrison County, OH. Nine children.

• Lydia Ann (02WR7) Parks, (1805, OH – 1835, IL), married John Fordyce (1804, PA – 1866, IN) 28 November 1826, Harrison County,  OH. Five Children. He remarried and had eight more children, not Park/e/s.

• Rezin (02WR8) Parks, (1811, OH – 1880, IL), married Nancy Craig (1812, NY – 1880, IL) 31 August 1830, Harrison Co., OH. Eleven children.

• Hiram I/S (02WR9) Parks, (1807,OH – 1882, KS), married Mary May (1810, PA – ?) 29 June 1830, Harrison County, OH. Six children. Several correspondents also reference a marriage to a Mary Jane Vincent Swank, (c1832, NY – 1884) with no marriage date or location. One or two additional children. 

Laban (01WR2) Parks, (1760, PA – 1813, OH), married Catharine Coleman (1776,PA – 1846, OH), c1797. Steubenville, Jefferson County, OH.  Seven children.

• Amelia (02WR14) Parks, (1805, OH – 1893, OH) married Edward Moore (1802, PA – 1885, OH) 12 June 1828, Jefferson County, OH. Six children.

• William (02WR15) Parks, (1807, OH – ??), Nothing further known.

• Mary (02WR16) Parks, (1810 OH – 1857, OH), married William Hawkins (1796, MD – 1885, OH) 25 January 1820,  Jefferson County, OH. No issue known

• Sarah (02WR17) Parks, (1812, OH – 1901, OH), married James Tipton, (1812, OH – 1893, OH) 27 April  1843, Jefferson County, OH. Four children.
