Welcome to The Parke Society

Founded in 1963 as a family association for descendants of Robert Parke (1580 – 1665), who arrived in America aboard the Winthrop Fleet in 1630. In a few short years the Parke Society expanded its scope, becoming a surname society encompassing all Park, Parke, Parks, or Parkes lineages in North America.

With the support of its members, the all-volunteer staff and officers have maintained and grown the Parke Society over its nearly sixty-year existence, becoming a vast repository of members’ individual research findings. With the addition of a DNA project, now comprised of over 400 participants, the Society is able to combine its database of lineage information with the genetic findings to better answer questions about which of the many Park/e/s lineages may share a genetic connection.

If you have a Park/e/s ancestry, the Parke Society is the ideal place to learn more about that branch of your family tree. Please explore our site, contact us if you have questions or suggestions, and become a member to further your research and add to the Parke Society’s ever-growing knowledge about our common surname.

Your membership will allow you to take advantage of the Society’s large database of lineage information, make use of our lending library of Park/e/s-related books, receive our newsletter, and learn how our DNA project can help you break through your Park/e/s ‘brick wall.’
