Clearing-House for Ongoing Research
on all Park/e/s Immigrants
from the British Isles.
Promoting Fellowship, Genealogical
Research, and the Preservation of our Heritage.
About the Parke Society
We are a genealogy organization whose members share research so that each can benefit from other
members' discoveries toward their immigrant ancestor. We contribute our lineage into a members
resource that presently consists of over 33 three-inch binders of family group sheets. The
binders are indexed in a database (not on-line) that contains over 22,000 individual given names.
Member research is further facilitated through
- a Newsletter published three times per year (see Newsletter Excerpts below),
- an administered DNA research project,
- a circulating library containing over 100 books and other documents, both published and
unpublished, pertaining to various Park/e/s lineages, and
- an annual meeting, open to all, held at various cities within the U.S. These annual
convocations generally feature a research room containing assembled Society research materials, a
guest genealogy presentation, and often a local tour related to research
(see Announcements below).
Our road to discovery is facilitated by a Historian responsible for the identification of
common lineages and the maintenance of lineage binders and their index. While most members
trace their ancestors to more recent immigrants, many have identified very early settlers,
such as Thomas (VA, 1768), Roger (NJ, 1682), Robert (MA, 1630), James (VA, 1724-1769), and
several who initially settled in Canada.
